About The Woodlands High School DECA

What is DECA?

DECA is a business club focusing in marketing, hospitality, finance, and management. They prepare emergining leaders and entrepreneurs for careers focused in these categories in high schools and colleges around the globe.

What do we do in DECA?

The focus of activities in DECA are competitive events. Students can choose from a wide variety of events based on their interest. The main categories of competition are Business Management and Administration, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, FInance, and Hospitality and Tourism. The types of competition vary from 20 minute no-preparation role plays to 75 question tests to 30 page papers, and more! They range from 1 competitor to 3 competitors so working with other members or friends is highly encouraged. No matter what your interests, expierence, or  time comitment, DECA has something to offer. We compete at District, State, and International levels. This year district competition is in Spring, State competiton is in San Antonio, and International competition is in Nashville. But just because competition is the focus of DECA doesn't mean its all we do. We go on field trips, have socials, visit businesses in the local community, network, and more. You do not have to compete to be in DECA!
